Unbeatable Deals: Mercedes Electric Vehicles Discounted Up to $15,000 Amid Slumping Sales

Mercedes-Benz Offers Significant Discounts on Higher-End EVs

Mercedes-Benz is currently struggling to sell its electric vehicles (EVs) in the United States, with sales of the EQB, EQE, and EQS falling by 36%, 39%, and 52% respectively in 2024 compared to 2023. Despite this, the automaker is pushing significant discounts on its higher-end EVs, including up to $15,000 on the EQS AMG.

Discounts Across the Board

A range of promotions was communicated to dealers earlier this week, touching almost every trim of the EQS sedan, the EQS 580 SUV, and every AMG and Maybach model. Even the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV, which starts at $181,050, is included in this initiative, with a $10,500 discount.

Attainable Models Get a Break

For the more attainable models, the EQS 450 4Matic sedan gets a $13,500 reduction to its $108,550 MSRP, while the EQS 580 version sees the same savings. The EQS 580 SUV, which starts at $128,500, also gets a $10,500 discount. The AMG EQE sedan receives a $10,000 cut, while the AMG EQE SUV gets $8,000 off.

The EQS AMG Sedan Gets the Biggest Discount

The EQS AMG sedan, which starts at $148,700, enjoys the largest MSRP slash of any of these cars, at $15,000. It’s worth noting that there is no EQS AMG SUV.

Why the Discounts?

Mercedes-Benz’s struggles to sell its EVs may be a contributing factor to these discounts. The trend of plug-in sales strongly outpacing those of pure EVs from the carmaker’s preceding-year sales report offers clues that the company may scale back its EQ-badged portfolio in response, at least in the States.
