Intense Action Awaits: Monster Hunter: Wilds Beta Extended After Global PSN Outage

Monster Hunter Wilds: PS5 Players to Get Extra Open Beta Test
The week has been a tough one for PS5 gamers, with the ongoing PSN outage causing frustration and disappointment. But Capcom is stepping in to make it up to fans, announcing an additional open beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds at a future date.
A Second Chance for PS5 Hunters
With only two open beta tests planned for Monster Hunter Wilds before its release on February 28th, PS5 players have missed out on playtime and participation bonuses. Moreover, the outage has hindered Capcom’s ability to test its systems and servers, resulting in a potential impact on the launch.
Capcom’s Olive Branch
In a statement, Capcom expressed appreciation for players’ patience and understanding, stating: "PS5 hunters, thanks for your patience and understanding during this weekend’s PSN service issues. To account for reduced OBT2 play time due to the outage, we are considering running OBT2 for an additional 24 hours at a future date. Exact details and timing are TBD, so please stay tuned."
When to Expect the Extra Beta Test
While Capcom hasn’t revealed the exact timing of the additional beta test, we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available. In the meantime, here’s a refresher on the current beta test schedule:
- The current beta test kicked off at 3am UK time on February 7th (7pm PST on February 6th) and closes tomorrow at 3am.
- The second beta test is set to run from February 13th-16th, also at the same times.
What to Expect from the Beta Tests
Both beta tests will feature cross-platform multiplayer, allowing players to transfer their characters (although not their progress) to the full game. Additionally, participants will receive a bonus pendant and item pass that will unlock in the full release. Monster Hunter: World and Iceborne owners will also receive Palico equipment and a Hunter Profile name plate if they pick up Wilds.
