Marvel Snap Returns: Exclusive Insights on Its Impending App Store Re-Release

Marvel Snap: The Popular Mobile Card Game Returns to App Stores
Get ready to rejoice, Marvel Snap fans! Developer Second Dinner is bringing back the popular mobile card game to Google Play, followed by Apple’s App Store in the coming days. According to Second Dinner, the game’s restoration process started on January 20th at 6PM PT / 3PM ET, and the game is expected to return to both app stores “as early as next week.”
A Brief Setback: Marvel Snap’s Temporary Hiatus
Marvel Snap took a temporary leave of absence last weekend due to the TikTok outage, caused by its original publisher, Nuverse, being owned by TikTok parent company ByteDance. The game returned to normal operations on Monday, and Second Dinner announced plans to “bring more services in-house and partner with a new publisher.” For now, Nuverse remains the game’s operator, as per the game’s privacy policy.
A Token of Apology: Compensation Packages for Affected Players
To make amends for the inconvenience, an admin on the Marvel Snap Discord server revealed a set of compensation packages for players affected by the outage. In-game credits, tokens, and special variants were offered to accounts created in the US or with US activity within the 30 days prior to the outage. Non-US players received a “Global Gratitude Package” with similar benefits. You can view the compensation details in the Reddit post below.
Ongoing App Store Issues: Other Apps Still Missing
While Marvel Snap is back in the running, other apps like CapCut and Lemon8, which suffered from the TikTok outage, are still offline and not listed in the iOS and Android app stores. Although President Donald Trump has directed the US Attorney General not to enforce the US TikTok ban, it remains unclear whether he can shield Apple and Google from legal liability if they host the apps in defiance of the law.
