The Last of Us Season 2: What’s to Come and Who’s New
A New Character Joins the Cast
The second season of HBO’s The Last of Us is just around the corner, and fans are eager to find out what’s in store for the characters and the story. Showrunner Neil Druckmann recently dropped some hints about a new character set to make their debut in the upcoming season. While Druckmann remained tight-lipped about the character’s identity, he did reveal that they are a prominent figure from the game who will be heavily featured in the season.
"Similar to what we did with Frank in season 1, there’s a very prominent character that is talked a lot about in the game that is in this season," Druckmann explained. "There’s a very, very cool casting that I hope we can talk about soon."
Druckmann’s co-showrunner, Craig Mazin, echoed Druckmann’s sentiments, hinting at a non-linear storytelling approach for the second season. "We certainly are going to mess around with time the way it was in the source material, but as Neil said, we messed around in ways that we felt were appropriate for the show," Mazin said.
Abby’s New Look
Fans of the game know that Abby’s in-game counterpart is known for her impressive physical abilities. However, showrunner Neil Druckmann revealed that the show’s depiction of Abby won’t be as overtly muscular as her in-game counterpart. According to Druckmann, the decision was made to create a more nuanced and complex character.
"The decision was made to not have her be as physically imposing as she is in the game, and to have her be a more nuanced character," Druckmann explained.
