Unleash Unbridled Power: Meet the Ford 7.3L Megazilla Crate Engine, Delivering a Blistering 1,000+ HP!

Ford Unleashes Megazilla 2.0: A 1,000-HP Supercharged Beast

Ford’s Performance division has taken the wraps off the Megazilla 2.0, a behemoth of an engine that boasts a staggering 1,000 horsepower. This beast is built around the 7.3-liter pushrod V8, already a fan favorite among hot-rodders, and features a Gen 6 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger to push its power output into the stratosphere.

A Powerhouse in the Making

The stock Super Duty engine’s cast iron block is well-suited to handle the added pressure, thanks to upgraded internals and higher-flowing cylinder heads. Ford has kept mum on the torque figure, but it’s safe to assume it’s significantly higher than the naturally aspirated Megazilla’s 638 lb-ft at 4,650 rpm.

Meet the Coyote Crate Engine

Ford is also introducing a new 5.0-liter Coyote crate engine, featuring the same Whipple supercharger that powers the Megazilla 2.0. This beast is based on the engine from the Mustang Dark Horse, with a reprogrammed powertrain control module and "more" to make a targeted 800+ horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque. And the best part? This engine is road-legal, with a two-year, 24,000-mile warranty available for added peace of mind.

Big Bucks for Big Power

Pricing for these engines has yet to be announced, but fans of high-performance engines can rest assured that they’ll be shelling out some serious cash. The existing Megazilla is listed at $22,995, and these new engines will likely follow suit.

Will You Be Blown Away?

The Ford Performance team has outdone themselves with the Megazilla 2.0 and Coyote Crate Engine. While some might argue that they can build more power with aftermarket parts, it’s hard to deny the allure of a production engine built by the Blue Oval. Whether you’re a hot-rodder or just a fan of big power, these engines are sure to impress.
